Chair Massage

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension here at Kriya Touch Therapies or offsite. (Special events or workplace). You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.

Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang (Chinese abdominal detox massage) is a modality that uses breath, massage, and movement of the Chi as tools to bring awareness back into the organ systems of the body and release physical and emotional blockages. In Taoist Medical Chi Kung perspective, all disease emanates from the disruption of Chi. One of the most powerful ways to physically balance that Chi flow is through abdominal manipulation via Chi Nei Tsang. This is an effective treatment for sciatica, headaches, back pain, gastrointestinal discomforts, and stress related disorders.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, TMJ/jaw pain and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

EFT- Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT is a powerful holistic modality that combines two well establilshed sciences, Acupuncture (Acupressure) that is based on ancient principles and modern discoveries regarding the connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and your health. EFT allows us to break negative feed back loops and rewire the brain and energy system toward more positive and healthy responces.

EFT has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional and physical health challanges and perfromance issues, such as:

*fears and phobias, anxiety, worry, stress, trauma, depression

*cravings, addictions and weight loss

*physical issues such as: pain, numbness, range of motion limits, headachess, hot flashes and more.

The treatment can be done in a chair or on a massage table. The practitioner or the client taps specific energy points on the client's body. The amount of time or tapping it takes to correct the disruption in the client's energy system and to make positive changes varies.  Part of the session may be devoted to teaching the client how to use EFT on themselves.

Energy Work

Energy work is based on the belief that everyone has a "life force", and that the body needs to sustain its balance for optimum health. Anytime you experience emotional or physical illness, it indicates that your life force has simply become unbalanced. I work directly with your energy field to restore balance and flow to your entire system. And once your energy field has been restored to full health, your body will follow.

Hot Stone Therapy

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Massage Cupping

A wonderful ancient tool has found its place in the modern world of Massage and Bodywork. By creating suction and negative pressure, Massage Cupping is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachements, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

A wide variety of conditions respond well to Massage Cupping, here is a partial list.

*Muscle Aches

*Athletic Stress and Injury

*Poor circulation, Stagnant Lymph and Edema, Cellulite

*Chronic pain

*TMJ dysfunction

*Bursitis, Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciatis

*Scars and Adhesions

*Sluggish Colon and IBS

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a special type of massage developed specifically for cancer patients. Cancer patients have unique needs which must be addressed to make sure that a massage is beneficial to their health. I focus my attention on creating a gentle, nurturing environment for you to relax into.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.
